Foundation
Purpose of Foundation:
The purpose of the foundation is the support of business-scientific research and teaching at the University of Bayreuth to questions of business management, mainly of the international management (teaching in the native language of the foreign guests of the foundation, research contacts with foreign countries). This purpose should be realised in particular by financing a visiting professorship to the Faculty of Law and Business Administration of the University of Bayreuth which is mainly to be filled by foreign guest scientists. The visiting professorship is called “Ludwig-Erhard-Professorship” in memory of the first Federal Minister for Economics of the Federal Republic of Germany.
History:
1989: Call for the fundraising campaign “founded professorship International Management” by the BF/K-curatorship chaired by Dr. Karl Gerhard Schmidt, by the president of the University of Bayreuth, Dr. Klaus-Dieter Wolff and Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Peter Rütger Wossidlo, president of the Business management research centre for questions of middle-class economy (registered association) (BF/M-Bayreuth) (so called business initiative Bayreuth). Several years' negotiations about the establishment of the chair with the Ministry of Education and the Arts failed, in the end, because the Ministry of Education and Arts cannot finance the founded professorship for budget reasons after five years. Donated funds go to the university association for the later foundation establishment (depot).
- 1994: Establishment of the foundation “International Management” by the business initiative, the BF/M-Bayreuth and the university association.
- Establishment of the foundation: 9th August 1994
- Attainment of the legal capacity: 30th September 1994
- Starting capital: DM 300.000
